Like a lot of yoga practitioners I began practising yoga at a very stressful time of my life and I instantly fell in love with the dynamic Ashtanga yoga practice. The moment I began my first Ashtanga practice I knew I had found what I had been searching for. For me Ashtanga is the perfect tool to quieten my mind, while also allowing me to be present.
There are many different types of yoga and I believe that each individual can find the yoga practice which best suits them, it just takes a little patience. Whatever the style you choose however, the results will be the same a deeper connection to your mind, body and spirit. In the last 11 years my practice has deepened and I have been fortunate to have studied with internationally acclaimed yoga teachers such as Matthew Sweeney, Manju Jois and David Swenson.
In the last few years I have incorporated Matthew Sweeneys gentle Moon Sequence into my practice and teachings which I feel is a very good balance to the dynamic Ashtanga Practice. I am one of two people in Ireland authorised by Matthew Sweeney to teach the Moon Sequence.
